At Parkhill Infants’ School our curriculum has been designed to be meaningful and memorable.  We aim to create irresistible, magical learning opportunities for our children and our school community to treasure.

We value being an infants’ school.  A child’s first day in our nursery or our school marks the beginning of an incredible journey.  Alongside parents we are in the privileged position of being able to inspire a love of learning within our children that lasts a lifetime.

We know that the early years of a child’s life are the most important. We are continually evolving and reflecting on our practice to ensure that we are experts in early education. Through our curriculum we empower parents to be the primary educators of their children. We work in partnership to make the most of every moment!

We want our children to have a strong sense of moral purpose and to be creative and resilient when facing challenges throughout their lives.  The spiritual, moral, social and cultural development (SMSC) of our children is key to achieving this.  Our curriculum is driven by our five values: Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Resilient, Be Curious, Be Proud which promote expectations of behaviour for our whole school community.

The values of the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Agenda and British Values are firmly embedded in the ethos and practice of our school.  Our aim is that all children have a strong engagement in their learning and the principles of respecting rights.  Within our school community children’s rights are learned, taught, practised, respected and promoted.

We are very proud of the social and cultural diversity of our school and the richness and experiences that this brings to our community. This wonderful diversity inspires our curriculum and makes it unique.

We have high expectations for each and every child and aim to ensure that learning is without limits.  Children are expected to make excellent progress in relation to their individual starting points.  Our curriculum sets all children up to succeed and we look for and find creative ways of overcoming any barriers to success for disadvantaged or vulnerable pupils.

We ensure that every child is nurtured and cared for during their time at Parkhill Infants’ School because we believe that this is how they thrive.  When children leave us in Year 2 they have the skills and experiences necessary to prepare them for life in modern Britain and they are ready to take the next exciting steps in their journey.
