Intent

At Parkhill Infants’ School our curriculum ensures that learning is without limits.  It has been designed by highly skilled, reflective experts to be meaningful and memorable. We aim to create irresistible, magical learning opportunities for our children and our school community to treasure.

It is meaningful because we know that the early years of a child’s life are the most important and our diverse community needs to be supported to be the primary educators of their children. We work in partnership to make the most of every moment! 

It is memorable because it is driven by our five values Be Kind, Be Respectful, Be Resilient, Be Curious, Be Proud which promote high expectations of learning and behaviours for our whole school community.  The values of the Unicef Rights Respecting Schools Agenda and British Values create children who have a strong engagement in their learning and the principles of respecting rights. These ensure that our children have a strong sense of moral purpose, are creative and resilient when facing challenges throughout their lives.

It is magical because a child’s first day at our school marks the beginning of an incredible journey.  Alongside parents we are in the privileged position of being able to inspire a love of learning within our children that lasts a lifetime. Our inspiring curriculum sets all children up to succeed and we look for and find creative ways of overcoming any barriers to success for disadvantaged or vulnerable pupils.

Our meaningful, memorable and magical curriculum ensures that every child is nurtured and cared for, thriving during their time at Parkhill Infants’ School.  When families reach the end of their magical journey they have challenged their own beliefs about what they can achieve, they are interested in learning and have high aspirations for their futures.  Children have strong literacy and numeracy foundations; they are creative, resilient and thoughtful ready for the next exciting steps in their life journey.
